Design Files

Download design files (Schematic, PCB, BOM, Drawings, 3D model)

Note: when designing your own board with Ethernet interface use PHY design from the "Piksi Multi Ethernet Hardware Integration and Application Example"  support article and the Piksi Multi Ethernet Interface design files package on the resource library.

Jumper Settings

Four jumpers enable the user to select serial port signal levels and connect CAN bus terminators.

  • UART0 Levels - selects UART 0 signal levels between 3.3 V LVTTL and RS-232
    • Short - LVTTL (3.3 V), UART signals are available on P37 (PicoBlade) and P53 (DIL header) connectors
    • Open - RS-232, UART signals are available on J3 (DE-9F) connector
  • UART1 Levels - selects UART 1 signal levels between 3.3 V LVTTL and RS-232
    • Short - LVTTL (3.3 V), UART signals are available on P38 (Picolade) and P53 (DIL header) connectors
    • Open - RS-232, UART signals are available on J4 (DE-9F) connector
  • CAN0 Termination - inserts 120 Ω termination resistor to CAN 0 node
    • Short - terminator inserted
    • Open - no terminator
  • CAN1 Termination - inserts 120 Ω termination resistor to CAN 1 node
    • Short - terminator inserted
    • Open - no terminator

Buttons

The Piksi Multi Evaluation Board contains two push buttons:

  • RST - Reset, press this button to reset Piksi Multi GNSS receiver
  • EVENT_IN - external event capture trigger, press this button to record precise time of event (GNSS fix is required)

LED Indicators

The Piksi Multi Evaluation Board contains 11 LED indicators:

  • General
    • Power On (green) - indicates power on
    • PV (blue) - Position Valid, stays on when position solution is computed
    • PPS (blue) - Pulse Per Second, blinks when position solution is computed, PPS signal is synchronized with GPS time
  • UART
    • UART0 RX (green) - blinks when data is arriving to UART0
    • UART0 TX (yellow) - blinks when data is sent from UART0
    • UART1 RX (green) - blinks when data is arriving to UART1
    • UART1 TX (yellow) - blinks when data is sent from UART1
  • CAN
    • CAN0 RX (green) - blinks when data is arriving to CAN0
    • CAN0 TX (yellow) - blinks when data is sent from CAN0
    • CAN1 RX (green) - blinks when data is arriving to CAN1
    • CAN1 TX (yellow) - blinks when data is sent from CAN1
